Join Leaders, Exchange Ideas, Take Action
In 2011, a group of engaged Windsor-Essex professionals sought a platform through which to create growth and change in the community. This fueled the idea to establish an innovative vision of Rotary Club in Windsor-Walkerville. Our goal is to connect the incredible work Rotary does around the world, with the enthusiasm and talent of a younger generation.
Points of Difference
Our members join the Rotary Club of Windsor Walkerville because we have a desire to make a difference and are looking for a way to give back to the community. We believe that philanthropy is not reserved for the wealthy and that everyone has the ability to improve, not just the city, but the world. Our club understands that each member has existing life and work commitments. That is why we aim to fit our meeting and activity schedules for our Rotarians by ensuring we leverage each member’s time and skills in so we meet in the evenings.
Moreover, Rotary provides opportunities to enhance skills through online and face-to-face learning. Furthermore, the Rotary Club of Windsor-Walkerville is a very sociable club, so we like to have fun. We attend and assist with many fundraisers such as the Rotary TV Auction, Wines of the World, and Art in the Park which all support local charities. Our club has a strong group of supporters called Friends of Walkerville Rotary. Perspective members are welcome and encouraged to attend various meetings and social events before they decide to join.
Rotarians are business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities while greatly enriching their personal and professional lives. Rotary contains a diverse group of professional leaders from the community that the club serves.
Rotary Club of Windsor Walkerville offers four types of memberships so you can enjoy Rotary regardless of your situation.

Corporate Membership – This allows a local business to always have a seat in Rotary meetings and activities, including all the business networking Rotary offers.
Family Membership – A Family Membership allows the whole family to participate through online or evening meetings, working on projects, meeting new people, and having fun improving our community. This membership includes no meals but Family Members are always welcome to come to Regular meetings when their schedule allows.

Rotary is a network of members around the world working together to exchange ideas, plan projects and take action. Becoming a Rotary member connects you with a diverse group of professionals who share your drive to give back. Through regular meetings, projects, and events, you’ll:
- Discuss our community’s needs and develop creative ways to meet them
- Connect with other leaders who are strengthening the Outer Banks and changing the world
- Expand your leadership and professional skills
- Catch up with good friends and meet new ones
Do the Good
When you join our Rotary club, your potential to make a difference on the Outer Banks and in the world grows exponentially. That’s because you’re joining a network of over 1.2 million people who take action — volunteers from all over who share a goal of improving our community.
In fact, the top two reasons people join Rotary are to connect with and give back to their communities. These are the same reasons members stay in Rotary year after year. But simply joining isn’t going to change lives or make those connections. That happens when you get involved. You’ll shape your own experience and decide how to get the most out of your membership.
Get involved in ways that align with your passions, and you’ll get much more from your experience.
